Key Stage 5 Drama teaching opportunities will also be available.

You will be able to implement the delivery of high-quality teaching to students, which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential whilst guaranteeing internal and external quality standards.

We are looking for a teacher who is accomplished in teaching KS3/4 Drama and in preparing students for exam presentation in GCSE Drama.  Experience of teaching A-level Drama and/or IB Theatre in the Sixth Form is desirable but applications are equally considered from those who are inexperienced but willing to teach these courses.  IB training will be provided, as necessary.

Drama is one of the flagship departments at Sidcot having developed a formidable reputation both in and outside School.  Many students will progress to arts-based courses at university and recent destinations include Central School of Speech and Drama, Rose Bruford College and LAMDA.  The department regularly performs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, as the theatre company ‘Hurly Burly’, taking original pieces.  In addition, there is a well-established biennial tour to New York, where there is a strong partnership with Quaker schools in the city.  Students also take part in outreach work through our gifted and talented programme.   Most recently, this has included performing pieces in local primary schools and leading workshops with pupils.

Interviews will take place on Thursday 23 May 2024.
