Governor

What do you enjoy about being a governor of Sidcot?

It’s a privilege to be able to influence the future direction of the school, to inspire both staff and students to create an environment for the School to thrive, in years to come and for its young people to be proud of being Sidcotians.

What do you do in everyday life?

My entire career has been in Marketing & Digital across health, travel, retail & consumer goods sectors covering brand management, digital transformation & organisational change. I am currently Director of Marketing & Ecommerce for Danone baby feeding in US.

What’s most important to you about being a governor?

I see my role as challenging norms and to encourage different ways of thinking and doing. In the commercial world, embracing diversity is critical to making organisations successful – public & private, so I will be looking forward to inspiring change as well as adding value though my experience.

What are you curious about?

My passion is digital and tech and how digitisation shapes the world we live in. Drawing upon the school’s ethos of ‘living adventurously’ I feel there is much I can share from my experience to drive innovation and widening the point of difference to other schools.

What surprises you about Sidcot?

There is little that I have found surprising about Sidcot. Observing behaviours of the students & staff demonstrates closeness to the school’s values and beliefs. There is a positive energy than permeates the culture & conversations and I’m proud to be part of it.

Do you think you would enjoy being a student at Sidcot? And if so, why?

Wouldn’t it be lovely to have that chance! To have the opportunity to be educated in a beautiful part of the world, with first-class facilities and teaching would motivate me to take a trip in the Tardis 😊

What does Quakerism mean to you?

Decency, fairness and accountability. Equipping tomorrow’s leaders with the values & behaviours that can make a better world.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

Keep attacking! Two words that encompass resilience, drive and grit.

If you had one word to sum up Sidcot, what would it be?

Inclusive.
