James studied BSc (Hons) Sports Coaching Science at Cardiff Metropolitan University. After University worked at King Edward’s school Birmingham while playing Rugby for Moseley Rugby club. Within this period James found his vocation for teaching and learning which lead to him returning to Bath Spa University to complete his PGCE.

During his career he has worked in several different educational institutions including, Melksham Oak and Clarendon whilst on placement before becoming Head of Rugby at Queen’s College, Taunton. Outside of school life James’ passion for rugby has been integral for his development having coached; Bath DPP, Bristol Bears Excel, England Lambs and was the Head Coach of Somerset U17 and U18’s age groups.  

As a performer James has representing Cardiff Met 1st XV, Bath DPP, Somerset age groups and Southwest U20 Rugby. He has also played a number of sports such as football, athletics (1500m) and cricket to a county level.

With a philosophy sport for all using a holistic approach and is passionate about helping students find their passion, then supporting them to reach and surpass there potential. ‘
