Kingsedgemoor County Championships Qualifiers
Wow what a brilliant weekend of competition for our equestrian team, which is growing from strength to strength. Fantastic!
Last Sunday (18 November) Team Sidcot had another sun rise start to head down to Kingsedgmoor to attempt to qualify some of our riders for the County Championships to be held in April at Bury Farm.
Our first team of Archie Stamp and Harriet Blair, together with two new team members Hugo Blair and Issy Lee, stormed the 70cm to secure their spot at the champs with a great win, with Archie awarded Individual first.
Our 80cm team of Harriet, Archie, Elsa and Erin rode their hearts out to win another huge class with Erin taking individual first.
Next was the turn of our x2 90cm teams of Sophie Lee, Elsa Cardale, Henry Blair, Caoimhe Collery, Betsy Hunt, Lottie Gunter, Evie Puddy and Erin Crofts. They all rode fantastic rounds in another large class and were unlucky to miss out on a team qualification. This class will be represented by Henry Blair who secured an individual qualification, and a big well done to Elsa Cardale for coming a fantastic 8th.
Lastly and just as the sun began to set, it was the turn of our metre team of Caoimhe Collery, Evie Puddy, Lottie Gunter and Henry Blair all of whom rode fantastic rounds to secure their team place to represent Avon schools at the county championships, with Evie Puddy and Glen qualifying individually.
It was an extremely long day but a brilliant day for all the children and their ponies, helped endlessly again by the great support team so well done to everyone.
I would also like to take this opportunity to say a very big well done to Caoimhe Collery and Erin Crofts who were awarded the BHS stage one exams.
