Sailing: GB Aero Youth National Training

Sailing: GB Aero Youth National Training

Albie Cutbill (Lower Fifth) has joined the GB Aero Youth national training programme, which is fab. His boat is an Aero, which is a single hander and flies through the water. It is a new, light, very fast and a contender for an Olympic class boat. The training he is a part of is the national, which means he is working with brilliant sailors and getting amazing coaching. He just loves it and definitely holds his own. He is the youngest and has much less experience than the others, but he is doing well. Bucket loads of life skills in this! This training is six weekends across the winter.

He has also managed to get into the RYA UK Zone Squads south west for the RS Feva, a double hander, partnering a girl called Meghan Rhodes, where currently he is helm. This is also six winter weekends with an expectation they should do competitions together next spring and see where their partnership might take them.

Albie feels really proud of where he has got to, but the weekends are hard, very physical and there is a good amount of homework (GB sailing growth mindset /nutrition etc.).

Go Albie!
