Staffing

The following staff have been recruited for September 2019:

Natalie Bone – Head of Junior School – January 2020
Has worked at Millfield and Millfield Prep School for nearly 12 years. Currently employed as Head of Mathematics and Senior Tutor. Husband is an Art and Photography Teacher and Senior Tutor at Sherborne School. Has a daughter and son and four dogs.

Elizabeth Caddy – Junior School Teacher
Currently employed as a Reception Class Teacher for Portishead Primary School. Mother is Ann Caddy, Librarian and French Teacher (Juniors). Plays the violin and piano and is a member of the Church choir. Enjoys practicing yoga (with her pupils) and is a member of the School Hiking Club.

Gemma Chapman – Head of D&T Faculty
Currently employed as a Teacher of ADT for Redland Green School. Has a Forest School Leadership qualification and previously owned a business providing educational sessions and forest parties in partnership with the Forestry Commission in Bristol.

Laura Flood – Teacher of Mathematics
Left University and worked in Ireland as a Pricing Actuary before embarking on PGCE in Secondary Education at Bristol University and is due to complete the course in June. Is a member of Bristol University Swing Dance Society. Enjoys crafts and practicing yoga and mindfulness.

Emma King – Junior School Teacher (maternity leave cover)
Employed as a Year 3 Teacher, More Able, Growth Mindset and Science Subject Leader for Richard Huish Trust. Enjoys the theatre, sewing and baking.

Joanna Leite – Deputy Head (Pastoral)
Currently employed as Head of Boarding and Specialist Learning Support and Spanish Teacher at Ratcliffe College where she has worked since 2008. Moving to Sidcot with husband and two sons who will also attend the School. Interests include running, walking and playing tennis, travel and reading.

James Madelaine – Teacher of Science
Currently employed as a Teacher of Science for Churchill Academy and Sixth Form. Has a small holding and interests include: cycling and cycle-touring; swimming; cross-country training; hiking; micro-adventures and bird watching.

Imogen Mills – Intern (Sport)
Currently studying at Bournemouth University and is due to complete degree in Sport Psychology and Coaching Services in 2021. Works as a ‘Kids Sports Coach’ for David Lloyd Health and Fitness Club. Family lives in Congresbury and attended Churchill Academy and Sixth Form.

Catherine Moretti – Teacher of Mathematics
Currently works for Nailsea School as a Cover Teacher. Enjoys keeping fit and spending time with family.

Elizabeth Teixeira – Head of English as an Additional Language (EAL)
Currently a lecturer in EAL at Cardiff College following a career in teaching in a variety of schools.

Lisa Townsend – Lead Teacher of Junior School Learning Support
After 14 years working for Clifton College, left in August 2018 to work as a self-employed private tutor. Is a local coordinator for ‘Contact the Elderly’.  Enjoys trekking and hill-walking and has completed a number of challenges such as climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and walking the Inca Trail. Is a qualified coastal and countryside walking leader and DofE Expedition Assessor.

Lorcan Reed – Intern (Literacy and P&GS)
An Old Scholar (2012) who trained as an actor and has worked professionally since leaving Sidcot.

Youngeun Shin – Intern (Ceramics)
Studied Ceramics at Cardiff Metropolitan University and currently works for the university as a Support Worker. Currently a member of CSAD Inc Space and co-shares a studio with eight other Ceramicists and Makers and a Technician Demonstrator for the Cardiff School of Art & Design Ceramics Department.

Lorna Brooks – Teacher of Cantonese and Mandarin
Currently works part time tutoring pupils to learn Mandarin and Cantonese for Badminton School and Clifton College. Moved to the UK from China in 2007.  Enjoys playing badminton.
