CReSTeD visit

CReSTeD visit

In April, the Learning Support Department hosted a day-long visit from a consultant with CReSTeD (Council for the Registration of Schools Teaching Dyslexic pupils). We were put through our paces in a day that involved looking in detail at the support provided for dyslexic students across the Junior and Senior School. Both one to one learning support sessions and classroom lessons were assessed, and our systems, procedures and record keeping were examined. Students were consulted on the support they receive and a sample of parental views was also sought.

CReSTeD registration is a quality mark of provision for pupils with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD). Of these, the main difficulty is dyslexia, but the award considers provision for wide ranging special needs and has to be renewed every three years.

Our consultant was very pleased with everything he saw and heard and the CReSTeD Council have just awarded our registration for a further three years. Thank you to all those students, parents and staff who contributed to our retention of this prestigious award.
