DofE Gold Expedition

DofE Gold Expedition

Having only been back in school for a day, six Upper Sixth students set out on their DofE Gold expedition in the Brecon Beacons. They did not know that they would face the most testing conditions experienced by any of our Gold groups! Over the four days they encountered wind and driving rain as they navigated through wild country camping at farms with pretty basic facilities and certainly nowhere to dry wet clothes and boots. On the Sunday they climbed Pen y Fan, the highest mountain in the area and had to battle through wind and rain to reach the top. Throughout the trip the students supported each other and stuck to the task so that as they finished they could feel proud of the achievement.

Well done to Millie Heslington, Nieve Young-Joo Greene, Zachary Brannan, Charlotte Boddy, Livia Airoldi and Piers Langford.
