Highbridge Dance Festival
Year 7 students Amelia Smith and Honey Hann recently took part in the Highbridge Dance Festival. Amelia attends The Dance Company in Weston four times a week and has been dancing since she was four years old; Honey, who has been dancing since she was six, is a member of The South West School of Dance in Street and attends lessons seven times a week.
Amelia entered two dances: a Lyrical Solo and a Modern Solo – she came 4th for her Lyrical and 3rd for her Modern, getting herself another shiny medal to add to her collection! Honey came 5th in her Lyrical category and 3rd in her Character Dance – a comedy dance based on a hotel concierge – and also came home with a shiny medal!
Both girls danced beautifully – well done them! Superb work indeed.
Amelia and Honey are looking forward to the chance to attend yet more competitions in the holidays ahead of us.
