Horrible History!
Third Form have been learning about the Black Death in History this half term. They have explored the causes, symptoms, methods of prevention and cures. In a suitably gruesome ending to the topic, we dissected a bubo in class. These buboes are swellings which appeared in the groin and armpits of someone who had caught the deadly Bubonic Plague. There was some chance of survival if the buboes burst, and the students watched with delight as the blood and puss oozed from the bubo! Truly horrible History!
