Lower Fifth pitch up in the gardens
So far this academic year L5 have had the opportunity to learn many skills during Wednesday afternoon's adventure activities.
One activity is lead by Anneka Reebye and Niel Doig. They are teaching the students the art of good camp craft. For the past few sessions, students have been pitching tents in the gardens. Some of the objectives of this activity is to teach the students where a safe place is to pitch a tent, how to pitch a tent efficiently and how to pack tents correctly.
Lauren Wilkins said: "I have both enjoyed and learnt a lot from these Wednesday afternoon PASS activities. They give us the opportunity to learn life skills outside of the classroom."
Other sessions have included map reading skills on a route around the School campus with Jim Scott and Paul Gregory, geo-caching in Winscombe with Graham Hartley and Sue Skyrme and a Treasure Hunt with Ed Pemberton.
At the end of the academic year it is hoped that the students will put the skills learnt to the test during a trip to Goblin Combe.
