Ship-shape and Sidcot Fashion
The amazing ship pictured on the front cover was carefully designed and constructed by Lower Sixth student Mara Znagoveanu’s father, Mihai, who is a captain of a Romanian ship. It took Mihai four months to craft the ship – he did it in his spare time on board using materials close to hand – bamboo skewers for the mast, medical thread for the ropes, medical gauze for the rigging, sheets for the sails. We are very grateful to Mihai for this wonderful creation. Next time you’re passing reception, come and have a look at it.
