Sidcot Geographers Work With North Somerset Council

Natalie Richards from North Somerset Council came in to work with Upper Fourth students this week. She is a an environment and development officer. Students were tasked with ‘regenerating Weston’ and with the help of Natalie, all came up with very realistic plans. She was very impressed and reiterated with students that many of the skills and processes they used during the session are exactly what the planners and developers do when they are creating new developments. At the end of the session students realised that Geographers gain very valuable skills that can be applied to a wide range of future careers. (Which was the point!).
