Sixth Form Ball 2017
The Sixth Form Ball took place at Rookery Manor last Friday (24 March).
The dress code was “black tie” and the Sixth Formers took great pains to dress up – and they all looked fabulous. We are all eagerly awaiting the official photographs from the event, as well as enjoying the use of a specially ordered Photo Booth on the night.
Earlier in the afternoon the Head Girl, Jade Lawrence, decorated all the tables, made the picture slide show and made cards for each table to show the order of events. Miel Nadam organised nominations for the various awards and after dinner, the Head Boy Tom White, and Ernie Waller-Whitehouse were joint masters of ceremonies, in making jokes and presenting the awards.
There was a disco afterwards – it was wonderful to see all of our Sixth Formers enjoying the evening and a big “thank you” to all the students who helped to organise the event and to the staff for supporting the evening as well. It was particularly special to see everyone, including our foreign Sixth Formers dance to "I've got a brand new combine 'arvester" at the end of the night! Well, we are in Somerset...
