Students are interviewed by BBC Radio Bristol

On Monday 20 June, Jade Lawrence, Polina Pak, George Wayne, Ilya Bykov and I were interviewed by Richard Lawson from BBC Radio Bristol, about the Peace festival that took place on Sunday 19 June. We took the reporter up with Jackie Bagnall, Director of Peace and Global Studies, to the Peace Field – as it was raining we couldn’t show him around, but he saw the yurts and was very surprised and amazed that we had them available to us.

He interviewed us about how we felt the Festival of Peace went. Of course, we all talked about the weather! Although it rained the whole time I believe it was a very enjoyable day, with lots of inspirational speakers – including a rapper, speaking about current problems and why we should change them, and a storyteller, who wrote a poem about Quakers. We then gave the reporter a tour of the school, where he got to see the art exhibit. He also thoroughly enjoyed the Library and the stained-glass window at the top. He said he would love to come back and visit, and maybe even do another report!
