Visit from Dr Antonia Ivaldi from Aberystwyth University
On Monday 26th February, Sixth Form Psychology students were visited by Dr Antonia Ivaldi from Aberystwyth University. The students were taught about her subject specialism of music psychology as well as hearing about the benefits of studying psychology at university. Students considered how different areas of psychology such as developmental psychology and social psychology can be applied to music. We watched a beautiful live performance of ‘Someone like You’ by Adele at the Royal Albert Hall. Students considered the performance from a psychological perspective applying theory to this clip. In preparation for Careers Week starting next Monday, students also heard about possible career routes in Psychology and the many transferrable skills a psychology degree provides you with.
