WorleWind French Tour
As if starting a new term was not enough, Claire Lilley and I embarked on a music tour with our band WorleWind. We rehearse with the band every Thursday evening, both playing alto saxophone.
We were excited at the prospect of our 'French tour' and were well-rehearsed, but knew the weekend was going to be a full musical adventure. Catching the boat from Portsmouth we sailed through the night to arrive at Ouistreham, disembarking in the early hours but in full concert gear ready to play our first venue. We moved on to Saint-Lô where not only were we to meet the Lord Mayor, but Janice and Chris Bateman, Head of Combe House until last year. The Batemans now live in France and had travelled to see us perform. But as Janice used to play in band, she had brought her clarinet along to join in!
I suppose this is what's meant by 'Living Adventurously'.
