Revision for GCSE German

REVISION SESSIONS: Every Monday 1.25-1.55 – should aim to come to every other one, if going to another revision session on the same day. 

GENERAL TOPIC VOCABULARY

Revise all of the 8 Modules we have studied - there is vocabulary in your textbook/ on Onenote and on Quizlet: https://quizlet.com/class/9033477/

 

READING

  • Revision Guide and workbook– these are the books that you bought - use these as much as possible. Aim to do a page a day if possible. The answers are at the back so you can immediately check if you’re right or not. 
  • Look back through the Reading tasks on one note - have a go at these
  • Use your reading revision booklet to regularly practice 
  • Look in reading revision folder on One Note

 

SPEAKING

  • Learn the Questions and answers to all 3 themes in the Conversation booklet. Suggestions for learning: 
  • Record yourself asking and answering the questions and listen to your answers as frequently as possible. 
  • Print off your answers and put them up around your house - on your bedroom wall / on the outside of the shower door / by the kitchen table / on the car dashboard etc so that you can run through them easily, whilst simultaneously getting on with your daily routine. 
  • In the Speaking exam folder in content library on One Note - study the Chatty mat and Photocard phrases
  • In the Speaking folder- study the Role play phrases
  • On Quizlet – check out the photo card vocab 

 

WRITING

  • Practise the Speaking questions in the Conversation booklet as these are the same for the Speaking and Writing exams
  • Writing folder in One note- look over the Higher Writing phrases/ 90 word Writing mat/ 150 word Writing mat/ model Writings for 90 word tasks and 150 word tasks for all 8 topics
  • Grammatik folder > content library > one note – look through the key grammar points we have studied and make sure you understand and can apply them in your written work. 
  • Do all past paper questions that I have given you. 
  • Use the text book end of chapter Schreibtests for more practice (p.24 / 44 / 64 / 90 / 112 / 134 / 154 / 178) 

 

TRANSLATION

  • In the Onenote folder/ Translations- there are 4 booklets of Translations covering all of the 3 main themes and both tiers
  • Translations – German into English (step by step practice and help)
  • Translations – German into English – more practice (similar to exam style questions) 
  • Translations- English into German (step by step practice and help)
  • Translations – English into German – more practice (similar to exam style questions)

Spend 20 minutes, two times per week on what works for you - listen, transcribe what you hear, make notes of vocab, verbs or useful structures and then use them in your written/spoken work too.
