4x4 in Schools Competition

4x4 in Schools Competition

Thursday 18th January saw teams from across the South West compete in the Regional Finals of the 4x4 in Schools Competition. Our very own Team Zeus were there to represent Sidcot.

Team Zeus, made up of Beau Noya, Yaroslav Polosin, Adam Lyall, Cameron Wride, Zach Townsend and Oliver Davies, have been designing and building their own model 4x4 vehicle which they had to drive across a particularly challenging off-road course. During the day they were also interviewed by the judges after an inspection of their design work, gave a presentation about their Team’s progress and face scrutineering to ensure their design met the competition regulations. The team performed admirably, with many judges impressed with their efforts and the originality of their design which was inspired by the mars rover vehicle. Unfortunately we did not being home any silverware for the trophy cabinet this year, but this being our first year of entry, we learnt a lot from the more experienced teams and advice given by the Landover judges.
