Ceramics Excellence Award 2018
Well done to: Joshua Keating, William Lloyd and Maisy Hann who were all successful in being selected for The CSADCeramics Excellence Award and congratulations to Joshua who won first prize for the GCSE category. We enjoyed a visit to Cardiff to see the full exhibition of work being considered. The calibre of work on show was very high so all three students have done exceptionally well to be included. Here are a few pictures from our visit and some information on the award.
The CSADCeramics Excellence Award is a celebration of emerging talent and the potential of ceramics in encouraging significant material understanding both within arts practice and in prompting wider appreciation of our material world. From the physics of modelling sculpturally to the alchemy of technical glaze application – the breadth of ceramics as a discipline is expansive and constantly evolving.
On the evening of the private view a panel of experts in the field of ceramics and education awarded an overall winner and three recommendations across the categories of GCSE, A Level and International Bacalaureate / Foundation.
