As you can see from these photos, many of the students and staff spent the day in pyjamas and onesies! The charities team presented assembly and invited teams from each house to a hula-hooping competition, won by South House. Congratulations to the Heads of Houses for being so sporting, but, keep practising, ladies!
Other fundraising activities included ‘sponge the teacher’ (thank you Mr Kilpatrick, Mr Lovett and Mr McDonagh!), England versus the rest of the world in a 5 a-side football match and a sponsored silence. Individual members of staff found other ways to raise money, such as charging £1 NOT to set prep and some even sponsored Nick Allam to wear a cooked chicken hat to complete his onesie outfit! Sweets and chocolate sales also contributed towards the magnificent sum raised of over £1,000. Thank you to all participants.
I’m sure you will have heard some of the stories of youngsters in the UK facing tremendous challenges as part of the BBC programme. It is so heartening to think that our contribution will make a real difference to someone’s quality of life.
