A close fought game with Wells Cathedral School. Batting first, Wells amounted an impressive score of 119 from their 20 overs. Pick of the Sidcot bowlers was Archie Stamp, who alongside taking two wickets, did not concede a run from his three overs. The other bowlers worked hard to stem the flow of runs with such small boundaries. Concluding the innings, extras were by far and away the leading scorer, a definite focus moving forward.
Batting second, Sidcot got off to a brilliant start, the opening pair of Henry Williams and Joe O'Neil putting on 32 for the first wicket, running excellently between the wickets. The main contributors of the Sidcot innings were Williams (28 ret) and Ethan Linnitt (21no). Unfortunately Sidcot were unable to stay with the required rate, mainly due to the tight bowling from Wells, giving us few extras.
In all, a very positive game. We are confident that we are progressing nicely and are beginning to string together good performances. The future is bright!
