Nuno Felting Textile Workshop
Wednesday 22 February
This week Kirsten Hill-Nixon held a workshop for our Sixth Form Art Textiles students, on the Nuno felting technique, inspired by Japanese cloth or 'nuno'.
The labour intensive process involved carefully layering loose wool fibres on an open weave cloth, drizzling with soapy water, then rolling and manipulating to shrink the fabric. This non-woven cloth can be used to create amazing and exciting designs.
The students will include their final sample pieces in their portfolios as part of their exam work research.
