This was a really successful and enjoyable day. Our students performed very well with numerous amongst them achieving their personal bests of the term. Competition in all events was powerful but sportsmanship and good spirit was always in evidence. Four records were broken: Alex Crofts – Inter-boys Hurdles and 100m; Imogen Moroney – Junior Girls 800m and Dan Corbett – Junior Boys High Jump. The individual cups were fiercely contested but were finally awarded to: Junior Girls – Elly Aizlewood; Junior Boys – Oscar Browne, Intermediate Girls and Boys – Charlotte Dolman and Alex Crofts; Senior Girls – Ailsa Craig and Senior Boys – Louis Underhill. The Hermes Shield for an outstanding performance on the day went to Alex Crofts, who broke a hurdles record that stood since 1976 – he also won the Davey Shield for outstanding performances over the term. The 1500m cups were won by Imogen Moroney and Cameron Fisher. The overall house winners were East House. Our congratulations go to all competitors and our thanks go to all spectators and staff who helped to make the day so successful.
