On Saturday 11 May, a selection of our Sidcot Equestrian team members made their way to the Royal Windsor Horse Show to compete in the Land Rover Inter-schools competition. Erin Crofts, Lottie Gunter and Archie Stamp had previously qualified to compete at Windsor in March at Bicton Arena. It was certainly the biggest atmosphere any of the riders had experienced, as they shared the grounds with the mounted police and household cavalry to only name a few.
The team felt incredibly proud to make it this far and were reminded at all times to enjoy the moment. Each team was limited to only three riders and all three scores were to count.
Erin started the team off with a beautiful steady clear round, followed by Lottie who had just the one pole down and a very unlucky refusal. Archie was our last rider in, who tackled the very colourful course brilliantly to just have an incredibly unlucky pole down. The team managed to finish middle of the teams on an incredibly respectable 12 faults.
We look forward to trying to qualify the next team of riders ready for next year.
