Sidcot Wildlife Photograph Competition 2015
There has been an amazing response for this year’s Sidcot Wildlife Photograph Competition. There were nearly 100 entries, from students in the Third Form to Upper Sixth. The subjects of the photographs included some fantastic shots of wild animals in exotic parts of the world, through to stunning pictures of plants in local gardens. I have been especially impressed with the artful composition of the pictures and the natural beauty of the world around us that they convey.
Ross Wallis had the unenviable task of deciding the winners, who were Dolores Zhu for her photograph of behaviour in swans, Emilie Keating for her photograph of butterflies, and Freddie Fearnley-Derome for his close-up of a caterpillar. Runners up were Molly Pittaway, Will Lloyd and Oscar Byles with Ella Holman, Adam Lyall, Alma Hummelsburger, Ilya Byakov, Libby Hann and Vesela Hristova being highly commended.
Congratulations to all who entered!
A selection of some of the photographs are included in this newsletter and there will also be displays by the refectory and in the Science Department.
