Where were you when..? This is a question usually followed by some world event, most often of catastrophic proportions: the assassination for JFK, the attack on the World Trade Centre. However, our students will be able to recount where they were when the solar eclipse took place and tell their children and grandchildren that they were at school watching it unfold before their eyes on images projected in the top yard outside the library.
Star gazing has long been a Sidcot tradition and many of you will know that we have recently built a new observatory in the field behind the Meeting House. Not only were this morning’s events a chance to mark a moment in time but also an opportunity to reflect on things bigger and more immense that we can ever fully comprehend.
