Sport Relief 2014 was well and truly celebrated when the whole school dressed in a variety of sports clothing in support of the many worthy causes funded by Sport Relief/Comic Relief each year. Friday morning’s assembly kicked the day off magnificently with the girls’ rugby team performing their own Hakka (assisted by Ryan Elkins and Mr Kilpatrick!) and the Year 7 and 8 gymnasts and dance club members performed some impressive routines. We watched the Little Mix introductory film clip and Sport Relief video, which got us into a suitably active mood!
In breaktime, as is traditional, students threw wet sponges at teachers. Many thanks to Mr McDonagh, Mr Scott, Mr Coates and Mr Hewer for taking a soaking with such good grace! Many students enjoyed bouncing on the inflatable slide and bouncy castle which was hired for the day.
So far, we have raised over £800, but we will let you know the final total at the beginning of next term. Many thanks to all involved and my personal thanks to the outgoing charity office holders who have contributed so much to charity activities this year.
