Each Wednesday, our Fifth Form students have been going into the community and volunteering as part of the Sidcot PASS program. Benedict, Steven, Ruby, John, and Weston were working really hard down at Winscombe Millennium Green. Three carefully chosen specimen trees were planted to enhance the area of the Millennium Green at the railway bridge, coming into Winscombe from Banwell. They should all bear blossom in spring and berries for the birds in autumn.
Deep holes were dug, which had a lot of woody roots to get through, plus it was rainy and cold! The trees were then planted and staked. The students did pretty well all the work with little supervision. Their hard work was much appreciated.
