Sidcot 52–10 Yatton ‘2’
In this their final game of a very long season, Sidcot certainly finished with a flourish. Being able to utilise all the squad members meant that players could enjoy the luxury of changing positions and also resting on alternate quarters. From the first centre pass Sidcot took control of the game, moving the ball at speed and forcing mistakes from their opposition, through tight and effective defence work.
Shooting from the home team was of the highest order and with Sidcot able to score freely, the Yatton team were always going to be facing an uphill struggle. It would be unfair on this occasion to single out specific players who played well, as this team performance of fast attacking netball showed just how much all the girls have improved over the season.
To finish on such a positive high is credit to the hard work, commitment and dedication of the senior girls over many years, but sadly just as success is becoming the norm, we have to now say goodbye to Jess Starkey, Gaby House, Lauren Mercer, Camilla Dolman, Megan Macarthur and Millie Hodge, who are moving onto to other adventures in their lives. All of them have showed terrific comradeship throughout their time playing netball and it only leaves me to wish them every success for the future and hopefully they will take treasured memories of Sidcot netball with them. Keep playing, girls!
