Year 13 Psychology trip to Bristol Zoo
On Monday 16 November the Year 13 Psychology students went on a trip to Bristol Zoo. There, we had the chance to carry out an observational study on gorillas and drills (endangered primates that can only be found in Nigeria). We had the opportunity to improve our analytical skills and design our own experiment in order to understand animal behaviour and what influences it. It was a great learning experience as we understood how an observation is effectively carried out, so that the results are valid and reliable.
After the session we had the opportunity to walk around the zoo and learn more about different animal species. This trip was a fantastic occasion for us to apply our psychological knowledge to our own animal study that we carried out.
